A walk of just over 9 miles exploring three delightful Lincolnshire churches whilst taking in the breathtaking views of the rolling Wolds.
What to bring
Footwear with good grips, ideally boots with ankle support, is a must. Waterproofs and warm clothing at this time of year are likely to be important, too.
'Your safety is our concern but your responsibility.'
For any further information on the walk, please call Richard Brackenbury on 0774 7034893.
Our walk will visit:
Belchford St Peter & St Paul
Gather at the church (parking and toilets at nearby village hall).
Enjoy coffee/tea and cake whilst gathering and learn about the Lincolnshire Rising and the role the vicar of Belchford played in that event.
Walk to Scamblesby St Martin
Take in the stunning views of Lincolnshire Wolds from the churchyard. Discover the treasures to be found within the church. We will be given welcoming drinks and snacks.
Walk to Fulletby St Andrew
Who was Henry Winn and what is his record breaking entry in Guinness Book of Records. We will also enjoy a snack stop with hot drinks.
Return walk to Belchford Blue Bell Inn
Welcoming drink by a roaring fire with optional meal to round off the day.
This event is hosted by St Peter & St Paul
Nicholas Leache, rector of Belchford in 1536, was one of the ringleaders in the Lincolnshire Rising in which 3,000 people marched through the county to protest against closure of the monasteries by Henry VIII.See church profile
