A talk on the Country Houses of Northamptonshire by Neil Lyon

Book this event Back to events

Event information

Neil Lyon will talk about his research into the demise of some fine large houses in the county of Northamptonshire. He will share information about our beautiful county houses, and how many of them were saved from destruction between the two world wars. Neil has written a brilliant and compelling book on this subject.

The talk is in support of the fundraising appeal to restore and renovate St Michael's, Church Stowe. Tea and delicious cakes will be served. The talk will take place in The Boat House, by the lake, adjacent to St Michael's Church Stowe.

The talk forms part of a series to also include Churches of Northamptonshire (September 25th) and Eastcote Prisoner of War Camp (October 23rd). £15 per lecture or £40 for all three lectures. Tickets to be purchased in advance (please see contact details).

This event is hosted by St Michael & St James

St Michael’s church is in the parish of Stowe Nine Churches, originally simply Stowe meaning ‘Christian Holy Place’.
