Service of Thanksgiving for Duke of Lancaster's Regiment

Event information

The annual service to give thanks and celebrate those on active duty and past members of the regiment in all its guises, including the Border Regiment.

The Cathedral's Regimental Chapel has a long association with the Border Regiment, and subsequently the Duke of Lancaster's Regiment. It is here you can find memorials to the fallen in conflicts and colours (flags) dating back to 1745.

The annual service of thanksgiving will take place on Sunday 12 May at 13:00 and all are welcome to attend, to celebrate, give thanks, and to remember those who are currently active and those who have given service in the past. Music will be sung by the Senior Girls' Choir.

This event is hosted by Carlisle Cathedral

Welcome to the world of Romans, Vikings, medieval monks and contemporary Christian community as you tour the grounds and see the surviving monastic buildings, the Georgian residences where the present Canons live, and the peaceful gardens.
