To mark the 250th anniversary of the birth of poet Robert Anderson, this free concert features songs and readings for all to enjoy.
Robert Anderson, The Cumberland Bard, was born in Carlisle on 1 February 1770. On the occasion of his 250th anniversary Carlisle Cathedral, where the poet is buried, is holding a free lunchtime concert from 12.30pm-1.30pm.
Local singer-songwriters Dave Camlin and Steve Wharton will perform some of Anderson's best-known ballads, with readings from members of the Lakeland Dialect Society.This is a free event, with a retiring collection to support the Cathedral and the artists.
