St Polycarp

St Polycarps is a church that welcomes all ages, both to worship and enjoy our varied activities for the community.

About this church

One of the privileges of St Polycarps, is the Sheffield Flood Memorial which lists the names of those who died in Malin Bridge in the flood and is a stark reminder of the loss in the area. There are also war memorials for both World Wars.

We try to mark these significant historical events, in appropriate ways. The building was built in 1933 and its simplicity and high ceiling create a beautiful space for worship and times of prayer.

St John

St John's is a very fine example of Victorian architecture, originally opened in 1879 and, following a fire, reopened in 1897 with one of the tallest spires in northern England.
