Upcoming events

Sacred Somerset: Tour of churches in West Somerset and Exmoor, organised in partnership with the Diocese of Bath and Wells. Following a successful tour in 2017, we are doing it all again!

Welcome once again. One hundred churches have come together to celebrate their rich diversity. We have churches of all sizes and denominations, some are simple churches serving small hamlets, others are buildings of larger stature, serving our market towns. But all share one thing in common; a warm welcome to everyone over the festival weekends.

Church of the week

The Italian Chapel was built by Italian Prisoners of War during the Second World War. Confined to an island previously inhabited only by sheep, the prisoners channelled their energy into transforming two Nissen huts into the stunning chapel that now attracts about 100,000 visitors a year.
